Dear Creative (Pt. 2)

Dear Creative, take accountability.

Take accountability for letting anyone convince you to bury your talents for God instead of using them to fish, when God’s Word says differently. (Matthew 25:14-30)

Take accountability for letting anyone convince you that walking onto a college campus pleased God more than walking into a dance class, a piano recital, or a recording session, when God’s Word says differently. (1 Peter 4:10)

Take accountability for letting anyone limit your fishing pool to 18-22 year olds instead of the kings of this age, when God’s Word says differently. (Proverbs 22:29)

Take accountability for letting anyone define “sold out” as giving up your dreams instead of baptizing them, when God’s Word says differently. (Exodus 35:30-36:2)

Take accountability for letting anyone limit how you glorify God to a ministry they knew how to lead and control, when God’s Word says differently. (1 Corinthians 10:31) 

Take accountability for letting anyone convince you the only way to build the Kingdom of God was by building the campus of God, when God’s Word says differently. (1 Timothy 2:4)

Take accountability for letting anyone make you afraid to use your God-given gifts for your God-given purpose, when God’s Word says differently. (Matthew 10:28, Romans 12:6-8)

Overall, take accountability. Because know this. 

Everything is a choice. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

Jesus didn’t even blame the people crucifying Him for His death. (Luke 23:34)

And though Jesus chose God’s will in the end, He acknowledged His free will not to. And it was GOD, not a human. (John 10:18)

The truth is that people can contribute to your choices but no one can force you to do anything. (Galatians 5:1)

Taking accountability for your actions - including how you allowed others to influence them - will empower you to change. (Acts 3:19, Deuteronomy 30:19)

And not taking accountability for past decisions leaves you bankrupt of the ability to account for future ones. (Proverbs 19:3, Hebrews 12:11)
